The short version
Public-university admission in Albania runs through one national portal, U-Albania, in three rounds each summer. You rank up to ten programmes; the system assigns you the highest one your Matura score qualifies for.
Timeline
| Step | When |
|---|---|
| Matura results published | late June |
| Round 1 applications | 1–15 July |
| Round 1 results & enrolment | late July |
| Round 2 | August |
| Round 3 (remaining seats) | September |
Ranking your choices
Put the programme you actually want first, even if it's a reach. The algorithm never penalises ambition — it only moves down your list when you don't meet the cut-off.
Documents
- Matura certificate (or a copy of your results)
- ID card
- Portal fee receipt (≈ €20)
Tip: cut-off scores from last year are published on each university's site. Youth Gate lists them on every programme page.
After you're assigned
You have five working days to enrol in person at the faculty secretariat. Miss it and the seat goes to the next round.
